My name is Erika Jimenez-Gordon. I am originally from Brooklyn, N.Y., but I have lived in Georgia for over ten years. I graduated from Medgar Evers with my Associate of Arts degree in Early Childhood Education. After that I became a Licensed Practical Nurse and worked as an LPN for over eight years. I have worked in childcare and healthcare my entire adult life, however I felt called to be a teacher while working as a school nurse for Atlanta Public Schools. After teaching nutrition and handwashing to the students in my assigned school, I knew this is what I loved doing and I felt called to become a certified teacher. I received my Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education. I have worked as a teacher for the past five years and have taught students from grades K – 8th. I believe in teaching every student in a wholistic way and being an example of Christ to them. I have three daughters ages 27, 21, and 13, a stepson aged 28, and a stepdaughter age 25. I love spending time with my family. I was recently married to my wonderful husband Ricardo. I am excited to be here at Lithonia Adventist Academy and I look forward to all that God has in store for us!
